About

Dr. Dunteman graduated with honors from the University of California at Santa Cruz where he was a four year soccer player. After graduating from Northwestern University Medical School with honor recognition by the Alpha Omega Honor Society, he completed a 5 year orthopedic residency again at Northwestern Medical School. During his training, he had the opportunity to work with several of the professional team physicians including the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks where he developed an interest in sports medicine.

Following completion of his orthopedic surgery residency, he attended a one year sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Southern California Orthopedic Institute where he learned advanced arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgical techniques.

He has published multiple peer reviewed articles whose topics include rotator cuff pathology, multi-directional shoulder instability and revision ACL reconstruction. He has also presented his findings at professional conferences. He remains active on a national level teaching other orthopedic surgeons advanced shoulder arthroscopic techniques.

He is the team physician for North Idaho College and Coeur d’Alene High School Athletics.

He enjoys fly fishing, archery and triathlons. He is available to see patients in the Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls clinics.
